15th Annual Oberon Poetry Prize

 

A prize of $1,000 and publication in Oberon, a literary journal published by the Oberon Foundation, a nonprofit arts organization on Long Island, is judged anonymously and is given for an unpublished poem in any style.

 

Gladys Henderson will judge this year’s contest.

Honorable mention(s) awarded at the judge’s discretion.

Submit up to three poems with a non-refundable $18 entry fee (includes a copy of Oberon) postmarked by April 3, 2017.

You can pay using our PayPal link on the Online Submission page.

If you are mailing your poems to us, make checks payable to Oberon and include your contact info, poem titles, and a two to three line bio on a cover sheet. Do not include your name on the poems!

Please keep copies of your poem(s) as entries cannot be returned.

Enclose a SASE for notification of the contest results if snail mailing your poems.

Simultaneous submissions are acceptable as long as you notify us as soon as possible if your poem has been accepted by another publication.

Contest results will not be released until June 2017.

Poems cannot be removed from our publication after June 1, 2017.

A reading and release of this publication is scheduled for September 2017. Date and location TBD.

Editor: Mindy Kronenberg is an award winning writer whose poetry, essays and reviews have appeared in hundreds of publications in print and online, the US and abroad. Her writing accolades include film, video, theater, and her work has been featured in art installations. She teaches writing, literature, and arts courses at SUNY Empire College and has conducted workshops in the community through Poets&Writers, BOCES, and the Walt Whitman Birthplace. She edits Book/Mark Quarterly Review, reviews books for Weave magazine and the Mom Egg, is the author of, Dismantling the Playground, a poetry chapbook by Birnham Wood, and co-authored Images of America: Miller Place, a pictorial history, published by Arcadia.
